Perhaps, on some pictures they are drilled, and on some others they aren't !

You dont happen to have a spare carburettor do you?
I need one for my James as it has the wrong one fitted. Should be the same as a 4 cylinder BSA.

Alas not, mine is a non original SU.

Do you search a 26-FH or the rare 30FH ?

Also, few trikes were build with an Amal.... BSA was changing things at the drop of a hat

You could try http://www.carburetterspecialists.fsnet.co.uk/, they sell rare and early carbs...

This maybe not as far back that is required for this site but thought I would share some of the dreadful vehicles the Army driver has been & still is being palmed off with. We hear of how poor old Brit Squaddie is sent to war with inadequate vehicles in Afghanistan, unfortunatly this is nothing new. Being aRASC Driver in a Field Ambulance this is aunit not avehicle very similar to the US's MASH units, at that time we had no female staff. When I joined our ambulances were WW2 vintage Austin K2's if you have watched the film "Ice Cold In Alex" you know to what I refer. One of these Ambies was parked outside aCroydon Cinema to advertise said film. On the side placards Learn to Drive Free so that is how I joined up. after some experiments our unit was reequipped with 109" length Land Rover Ambulances, I was to drive this type of ambulance from Hyde Parl picking up a fallen Horse Guard at a Military Parade in front of the Queen Mum to disatant places around the world were ever British Troops served and were at the time getting killed & wounded.
The Land Rover Ambulance was a nightmare under powered and under braked once one would up the engine with afull load up then came the time to stop" FORGET IT!! The driver had the steering wheel each side of his ears puu=lling on it so hard to push that brake pedal down. BO Brake Booster fitted. On side slopes she rolled so many accidents the MOD instructed it was to be used as a 2 Streatcher ambulance although it was fitted with 4! In the mid 1970's after a number of fatalities to patients and crews alike I was volunterred?? to take a Land Rover Ambulance to the Armies prooving ground in Surrey and before Brass hats, & Land Rover Management instructed to take it over cross country ground, my passengers Sand Bags. I got through more underwear in that 2 weeks than all my life put together. One is directed where to drive and you know the outcome she will roll!! A Military Vehicle cab is not the safest of places racks for this and that with very sharp edges. So called leak proof tanks below the none fixed seat cushions I can assure that upside down they are not leak proof nor is the transmission oil.It is not an experience I recommend we used to go on Mountain rescue excercises to feel that vehicle come up on her springs then 2 wheels lift off the ground is dreadful the medics were unable to open the rear doors because the bodies on the Ambys distorted so much. How we longed for the Austin K2 days to return The RAF still had a few K9 Ambulances who did pass them on to us although 20 years old we preferred them to the L/Rs. Before L/R's we had Austin Champs fitted with Streatchers similar to WW2 Jeeps 2 streatchers in racks behind the driver compleatly in the open and they could not be treated on the move but at least The complete unit & personal would get to their destination. sebastian , i change a lot of felt seals on my enfield bullet to modern oil seals ,

you need to know the internal/external and how much hight you have to play with

check out companies like this http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/Oilseals___Orings-1048-c

alan

EDIT: , if the seal is behind a ball brg , consider a sealed bearing (2 x rubber seals ) the part no would be the same as normal , but have 2rs , at the end

again http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/Ball_Bearings-1129-c might be able to help you
I'm 15 stone 6'3'' body mass and I fit easily in my TW34 10 if I remove the back cushion.

When my girl friend drives the car, we put the cushion in place, she his an half pint lady of only 5'
Very little in the way of jumble. It is a chill out sort of day, tyre kicking, chattering etc

With a 115 main jet and recommended jet block now fitted and the correct No.60 auxillary jet (2 sizes bigger than I had in), she now runs a treat returning near 40mpg at the weekend on an 80 mile run.
The bigger aux. jet means the air screw could be screwed in to where it ought to be instead of 5 turns out.

Cleaner acceleration and I saw 43mph on the speedo!
Quite fast enough in a 3 wheel van I assure you.

I've just fitted the proper mascot to the front, it says BSA on it - hopefully people will stop asking "is it a Morgan" now!
